JULIA MALLORY

After Lingui, The Sacred Bonds

“You can’t be too tired to pray.” -Imam

Might my stillness be sacred

Might my snore ring out
my desires in the heavens

Yes! More of this, please

Can’t you hear my hallelujah
sounding through my nostrils

This is a sonic sacrament

My body, bent
in between a dream—
already a prayer
