PARTY ALIEN
VINAY GHODGERI
Save the cigs for me please
I leave the party just after presents
I’ve got Santas with drugs
Goodwill is never unconditional
I am a Naked visitor to the party
But no one looks at me
Only a gay dance wink
Where’s the rhyme
Hiding behind music
Cheap beats made by hope
Woman in danger
Slippery slope
Never want attention
Only sleep
The nightmares are gone
So is the spark
Where are the nightmares
Treat me with your balm
With your murky arms
Perverse and degenerate
In the middle of a party
I speak so serious
They think I’m strange
But my mind is not a tadpole.
Her bones with flesh on it
Dance vigorous like a militant
With boots and a beauty spot
I escaped from the penury
Of celebrating nothing
And slept a blank slate.
